Extension to Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme (TBESS)

The Government has announced it is extending the TBESS to 30 April 2023 and increasing the monthly limit on payments. Some other changes to the scheme are awaiting state aid approval but include reducing the threshold for qualification to the scheme from a 50% increase in energy costs to 30%.

The scheme helps businesses with increased energy costs. It was due to cease on 28 February, but has been extended following reports of low uptake due to overly tight criteria and a burdensome application process.
