We are the representative professional body for primary eye care providers in Ireland.
Our members provide more than half of primary eye care. We exist to ensure members can deliver patient focused care to people of all ages and means in primary care settings. We do this by supporting members with leading sector guidance and championing and shaping the future of eye care so that people get equitable access to the care they need closer to home.
Our goals – 2021-22
By working collaboratively with all sector partners, we will:
- Make eye care an integral part of population and public health
- Protect patient rights to access eye care in an equitable way
- Help prevent sight loss due to delays in care. Including making sure no child’s visual development is adversely affected because of delays in care
- Secure the workforce, infrastructure and funding necessary to deliver world-class primary eye care services.
